Workshop | Interactive Visual Communication | Chinesisch-Deutsche Kunstakademie,  中国美术学院

What happens when microcontrollers try to interfere with classical visual communication tools?

The aim of this workshop was to conceive communicating devices or functionalities and realise little prototypes which are mixing the analog with the digital world. This for students could choose between working with a physical input which has to be processed to a digital output, or the contrary, process a digital dataset to physical pixels. The final projects reached from haptical talking plant interfaces, over ephemeral light stamps, up to magnetic field generated and parametriacal infographics.

The CDK, Chinesisch-Deutsche Kunstakademie, was a cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Art Hangzhou and the Berlin University of the arts.
